Zula Burger is set to open its second London restaurant in Spitalfields on 1 November, expanding its presence in the UK following the success of its Marble Arch flagship. The new venue will introduce a fast-service format and an exclusive Spitalfields Wagyu Burger to the area near Spitalfields Market.
Founded in Istanbul in 2017 by chef Cihan Kıpçak, Zula Burger has evolved from a small backstreet restaurant into an international brand with locations in Istanbul, Bodrum and London. Its name comes from the Turkish term for “hidden corner”, reflecting its blend of street food culture and refined culinary techniques.
The Spitalfields opening will bring the brand’s chef-led burger offering to a new audience, with a concept designed to serve office workers, market visitors and customers looking for a quick meal.
Exclusive burger headlines the menu
The new restaurant will serve Zula Burger’s signature dishes alongside the exclusive Spitalfields Wagyu Burger. The creation features a Wagyu beef patty, double cheddar, French mayonnaise, spicy sambal, black pepper, gherkin and onion, all served in a house-baked brioche bun.
Other menu highlights include The Basic, topped with cheddar, caramelised onion, pickle relish and house-made truffle mayonnaise. The B.I.G. builds on this combination with an additional patty and mustard sauce, while The Fake Mac features shredded lettuce and Mac sauce.
The brand places a strong emphasis on ingredient quality and in-house preparation. Its brioche buns are baked fresh daily, its beef is sourced from British supplier Aubrey Allen, and its sauces are made in-house.
“A great burger is all about balance. Every ingredient matters, and none should overpower another. This begins with the bun; bread is so simple, but it needs to be treated with the same care as the beef or sauce,” Kıpçak said.
Contemporary design meets fast service
The Spitalfields restaurant will introduce a refreshed visual identity created in collaboration with designer Annabel Colterjohn.
The interior will combine metallic finishes, warm wood tones and vermillion orange accents, alongside a streamlined ordering counter. Its compact layout is designed to handle high volumes of takeaway orders efficiently, while a smaller bar will provide seating for customers who prefer to eat on-site.
The concept reflects the brand’s intention to adapt its offering to the character and pace of East London while maintaining its established food identity.
Managing director Kaan Yildirim said the opening would bring Zula Burger to one of London’s best-known markets and strengthen its position within the capital’s burger scene.
“Zula Spitalfields places the brand’s already much-loved burgers into a new format and a design that fully embraces East London’s edge,” he said.
Chef-led approach drives brand development
Kıpçak developed the Zula Burger concept while working as executive chef at Spago Istanbul, drawing on his experience in Michelin-starred restaurants. He has since received GQ Chef of the Year recognition.
The brand has also expanded its menu through guest-chef collaborations. During 2026, London chefs Elliot Hashtroudi, Lorcan Spiteri, Eric Wan, Rahel Stephanie and Ana Ortiz have been creating limited-edition burgers for the restaurant.
With the Spitalfields launch, Zula Burger will operate two London locations, alongside six other venues in Istanbul. The opening marks another step in the brand’s development as it brings its premium burger concept to new neighbourhoods and customers.
