The live-kitchen sushi brand opens its 38th store on Guildford High Street as its UK expansion continues
GUILDFORD, – The Sushi Co. has officially opened its doors in Guildford, its 38th store, at 221 High Street. The brand marked opening day by giving away its signature 500 free sushi rolls to the local community.
Opening day drew a great atmosphere and a strong local turnout. Guests could watch chefs at work in the brand’s Live Sushi Kitchen, where every order is made fresh in minutes.
The former betting shop has been fully refurbished and is creating up to 15 new jobs. It joins The Sushi Co.’s nearby store in East Grinstead, with Egham and Redhill expected to open soon.
Haran Tushiharan, Head of Operations at The Sushi Co., said: “Every new opening reminds us that our growth is about much more than adding another location. It is about bringing minutes-fresh sushi, great service and the Sushi Co. experience to new communities across the UK.

The Guildford store is run by owner Varanand Reddy Sama, who said: “No other high street sushi restaurants include Live Kitchens where you can see the food being prepared. It’s one of the reasons we’re so popular, as people really value fresh ingredients and kitchen skills when it comes to this cuisine.”
The Sushi Co. Guildford is now open at 221 High Street, Guildford GU1 3BJ, for eat-in, click and collect and delivery.
