US Fast Food Chain UK Launch

By Editorial Team

Raising Cane’s sets early 2027 date for first UK restaurant in London’s West End

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will open its first UK restaurant in early 2027 at 21–22 Coventry Street, between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. The site, formerly home to Angus Steakhouse, will also be the US brand’s first restaurant in Europe.

The chain first confirmed its UK plans in September 2025, initially targeting a late 2026 launch. That timeline has since moved back, though Raising Cane’s branding is already up on the Coventry Street frontage and an exact opening date has yet to be announced.

The London flagship is intended as the first step in a wider UK rollout. The brand has named The Strand, Oxford Circus, Paddington and South Bank as target areas for further restaurants, along with drive-thru sites across Greater London and beyond. Job listings on its UK careers site also point to sites at 55 The Strand, 110–113 Tottenham Court Road and 84 Eden Street in Kingston upon Thames.

Founded by Todd Graves in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1996, Raising Cane’s has built its business on a deliberately narrow menu. Guests choose from just five core items: chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, buttery Texas toast and the brand’s signature Cane’s Sauce, which is made fresh in each restaurant every day. The chain now operates more than 950 restaurants across the US and the Middle East and reported sales of more than $5.1 billion in 2024.

Graves said the UK had long been at the top of the brand’s international wish list. “We receive more requests to come to the UK than anywhere else in the world,” he said. “It has always been a dream of mine to bring Cane’s to the UK, and I’m excited to officially kick off this growth with the opening of our UK flagship.”

The chain has a large following in the US, with around five million social media followers and a list of celebrity fans that includes Snoop Dogg, Post Malone, Cynthia Erivo and Travis Kelce. Its arrival adds to a growing line-up of American chicken brands in the UK, following Popeyes, Dave’s Hot Chicken and Chick-fil-A, and sets up a crowded fight for market share in central London’s fried chicken scene.

The expansion marks the latest move by the restaurant brand as it takes its Italian dining concept beyond its established London locations.

Further details on the opening date and Glasgow menu are expected to be announced closer to the restaurant’s launch.
