KFC has redistributed the equivalent of 5 million meals across the UK through its partnership with FareShare, which began in 2021.
Under the partnership, surplus chicken from KFC restaurants is frozen and distributed to more than 1,300 charities across the country through FareShare Go.
On the 23rd of January, local MPs Kim Johnson and Anneliese Midgley and Councillors Harry Bell and Tony Ely visited FareShare Merseyside’s community kitchen in Liverpool for a community lunch and behind-the-scenes tour.
The event highlighted how surplus food from local businesses is collected and turned into meals by volunteers.
It provided an opportunity for volunteers to explain the impact of a consistent food supply on families in the city.
