Paris based Smash Burger brand Dumbo will become the latest overseas brand to enter London’s growing burger scene.
The brand will make its international debut with a site on Bethnal Green in Shoreditch next month, its fifth location overall and first outside of Paris.
Founded in 2019 by Charles Ganem and Samuel Nataf, Dumbo has become known for its stylised, minimalistic approach and claim to be the pioneers of the smash burger in Europe.
Its tight menu features a cheeseburger made from meat from butcher HG Walter and vegetarian ‘earth’ burger as well as twice cooked fries and chicken nuggets.
Ganem said: “Our philosophy has always been simple: great ingredients, no fuss and food that brings people together.”
Ganem and Nataf are eyeing more international sites in the future with London being their first site.
Dumbo arrival in London follows the debut of another French brand, Junk which opened in London last year. Its arrival indicates there is still a growing appetite for smash burgers in the UK.
