Greggs is opening a small-format “Bitesize Greggs” outlet in Dartford Station, part of a trial of compact shops designed for busy locations with limited space.
The branch, open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., brings 11 new jobs and follows the first trial site at Sevenoaks station, launched in November.
The pared-down stores focus on high-volume favourites, such as sausage rolls, steak bakes, sweet pastries, and Fairtrade hot drinks. The Dartford outlet will also sell the chain’s seasonal Festive Bake.
Greggs plans to expand the mini-shop model alongside its standard outlets as it works toward its goal of opening about 120 net new stores in 2025.
A third Bitesize Greggs is due to open later this month in Cheshire Oaks, with more expected to follow.
Tony Rowson, property director at Greggs, said: “We’re delighted to announce the opening of our second ‘Bitesize Greggs’ shop in Dartford Station.
This bustling station is the perfect location to continue to trial our new format to reach more customers on the go from compact units, whilst still offering a selection of our best-selling products.
We have a number of other ‘Bitesize Greggs’ openings planned, initially on a trial basis, as part of our broader estate growth plans and we look forward to announcing these in due course.”
