German Doner Kebab (GDK) plans to open its first restaurant in Ireland this year under a franchise deal with Strava Group.
The first location is set for the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre in Dublin, with around 25 jobs expected to be created.
The company aims to open 30 outlets across Ireland over the next ten years creating 1000 new jobs.
The expansion coincides with GDK reaching 150 UK locations, with its latest restaurant due to open in Leeds later this month.
Simon Wallis (pictured above), CEO, German Doner Kebab, says: “At German Doner Kebab, our vision is to dominate the kebab category across Ireland and the world, in every neighbourhood – one kebab, done right, at a time.
We value working with franchise partners who share and believe in our purpose to elevate the kebab experience.”
He added: “The Strava Group is already a successful partner in England and Scotland, with a deep understanding of the business operations.
We look forward to continuing to work closely with them to fulfil the potential of the brand in Ireland.”
Rickey Sharma, Director of the Strava Group, says: “German Doner Kebab is rewriting the rules of the kebab experience worldwide, and Ireland is the next chapter in that story.
We see tremendous potential in introducing our fresh, premium, and innovative approach to the Irish market, and we’re confident it will resonate with a new generation of customers.”
He added: “Our mission is to deliver the same high-quality food, distinctive style, and cultural connections that have made GDK a global success. Liffey Valley will be the launchpad for what we believe will be a strong and sustained nationwide presence.”
