US fast-casual seafood brand Captain D’s has appointed a UK managing director ahead of launching its first site here.
Mudassar Ali shared on social media that he had started a new position as managing director of Captain D’s UK.
He is a director of CD’s UK Holdings, which earlier this year signed a 20-store multi-unit franchise agreement for the UK with Captain D’s. He is also the chief executive of Kent burger business Dr Burger Lab and managing director of security business HK9 Security Services.
It was revealed by Propel in April 2024 that Captain D’s, which was founded in 1969 and has grown to just under 550 locations in the US, was eyeing a UK launch as part of its global expansion plans.
The company signed the franchise agreement in January, and in March, said it will make its UK debut this summer. Its first UK site will be in Kent, with further locations lined up in Hampshire and Sussex.
