Third Glasgow site serves its first 100 kebabs in 45 minutes as the Scottish-founded brand returns to its heartland
GLASGOW,– Doner Shack has opened its largest restaurant to date at 50 Gordon Street, in the heart of Glasgow city centre. The opening marks the brand’s third location in Glasgow and follows four days of launch events leading up to opening day.
Demand was strong from the moment the doors opened. The first 100 kebabs were served in just 45 minutes, averaging one order every 27 seconds. Large crowds turned out throughout the launch, and early feedback on both the food and the new restaurant has been very positive.
Gordon Street is one of Glasgow’s prime footfall locations, giving the restaurant excellent visibility in the city centre. Doner Shack sees the site as a strong commercial model for the brand and an important addition to its portfolio.
Sanj Sanghera, Co-Founder and Global CEO of Doner Shack, said: “Glasgow is incredibly important to us. Laura and I are both Scottish and this is very much our heartland, so opening a restaurant right in the centre of the city feels like a huge moment for the brand.”
The Gordon Street restaurant is operated by franchisee Abrar Khaliq. Doner Shack also thanked Flat White Communications for its support throughout the launch.
“It’s been a fantastic start, and we’re looking forward to seeing Gordon Street become another go-to Doner Shack in Glasgow,” the company added.
Doner Shack Gordon Street is now open at 50 Gordon Street, Glasgow G1 3PU.
