McDonald’s remains the top choice amongst frequent diners in the UK, attracting 45% of them compared to 35% of the general population, according to YouGov’s report.
Other fast food names like KFC (20%) and Burger King (14%) also perform better with this group than they do nationally, as do Domino’s (14%) and Costa Coffee (28%).
J D Wetherspoon stands out amongst pubs and bars, with frequent diners over-indexing at 34% compared to 25% of all Brits. Greene King Pubs (16%) and All Bar One (4%) also register far stronger relative engagement amongst this group.
For casual dining, chains like Nando’s (15%), Pizza Hut (9%), and Pizza Express (9%) are more popular amongst frequent diners than with the general public. Even mid-tier restaurants like Miller & Carter (6%) and Harvester (7%) get a boost from this group.
Nationwide, 27% of adults say they eat out at least once a month, with nearly 10% doing so weekly or more.
Meanwhile, when it comes to cuisine, Asian and Mediterranean flavours are most popular.
Chinese food tops the list, eaten by 37% of frequent diners in the past month, followed by Indian (34%) and Italian (31%). Japanese (13%) and Mexican (11%) trail behind but still register.
